HSU Fred Korematsu Day of Civil Liberties and the Constitution

HAPI worked with Franco Imperial of San Jose Taiko who put together a condensed version of Swingposium Humboldt, taken from the February 1, 2020 matinée performance at Bayside Community Hall. Starting the program was Humboldt Taiko with Gary Ronne, Yumi Ozaki and Chiemi Lehner who are a local taiko group that emerged from the organization of Humboldt Swing Taiko. HSU Library live-streamed the event, as a co-sponsor along with Asian, Desi, Pacific Island Collective (ADPIC) and Critical Race, Gender and Sexuality Studies (CRSG), HSU. ADPIC provided free catered lunches to registered students.

Stan Yogi, a prizewinning author introduced his website, Seen and Unseen: Queering Japanese American History Before 1945. HSU professors Christina Hsu Accomando, PhD and Michihiro Sugata, PhD moderated the forum.
